Good morning,
Being a good CIO means knowing how to talk - and talking a lot, on a daily basis, to lots of different people, on a variety of topics.
But sometimes, even the best CIO feels like they're preaching in the desert. In a weekly meeting, during a project review, or even in CoDiR, people chat, argue, move from one subject to another... and in the end, things don't move forward.
Good news: very often, it's not you the problem, but your methodology, your tools, and everyone's ability to adhere to it.
This is why we have filled this newsletter with hyper-concrete advice to equip your company with good communication practices. Thanks to these tips, everyone speaks the same language, and your organization is changing at breakneck speed!
On the program today:
💡 The challenge of the month : how to deal with employees who upset your agenda in meetings with unexpected topics.
🔥 The lesson to remember : a method to speak the same language as all the stakeholders in your transformation, and to avoid misunderstandings.
🔩 AirSaaS news : our team capacity feature is coming, and we are very proud of it!

In the subway, in the car, or in the middle of a jog, Listen to episode 85 of CIO Revolution. Inside, it's Alexis Valero, co-founder of rzilient, a SaaS platform that simplifies the management of a computer park, its software and the daily lives of those who use it. He talks to us about security, IT organization, or even planned obsolescence, by shaking up the IT world as we know it - and that's fascinating.
You have deployed a portfolio project management tool in your company, and everything is organized according to plan: projects, deadlines, managers, resources, risks... You are not unproud!
However, in weekly meetings or project reviews, it is always the same thing: an employee always finds a way to discuss a subject that is not in the tool. A new idea, or a delay, that upsets the agenda, and makes the meeting cacophonous...
Our position : If the subject to be addressed is not in your PPM tool, it does not exist! This tool is the only reliable source of truth to start discussions in the team. Because setting up a collaborative tool also requires real commitment and rigor on the part of operational teams.
📚 The must-read of our blog
In one of my last posts on LinkedIn, I shared one of my favorite tips with you. It consists of asking six questions one-to-one to each C-level or manager. Six very simple questions, which allow you to obtain real strategic clarity to then present to your CEO. A simple and effective method to communicate well with your Management, and to become a catalyst for the transformation potential of your organization. I leave you discover the questions here - and why not add me to your network to continue the debate!
“What is not defined for everyone will always be a barrier to transformation.”
When you talk about “project”, “risk”, or even “manager”, do your teams really know what to talk to you about? This is the observation that we make in many organizations: when CIOs talk about concepts that seem simple without defining them, very often, teams do not understand the same thing. Enough to significantly complicate meetings, and slow down your transformation...
To solve this problem, there are not a thousand solutions: ask yourself, and define a vocabulary common to all. The right way to do it? Define these terms in two simple, opposing sentences. For example: “For us, a project is not something that lasts between three days and three years. A project lasts between three months and six months.”
Clarify to better collaborate: you'll see, it works!
Team capability is coming to your favorite governance tool soon, and we can't wait to show it to you! It will help you easily align the ability to make operational teams, and the priorities of your organization.
Here is a small overview just for you of what it will look like:
RPA is bound to speak to you. It is not a new technology. But at Airsaas, we are fascinated by the way in which it has been able to develop even more with Artificial Intelligence, in cognitive RPA.
Small example with Axiom, which offers a no-code solution to automate the actions to be done on a website and the repetitive tasks that waste so much time. In a simple Chrome extension, this AI-powered RPA tool allows you to scrape the web, automate spreadsheets, automate any website, or even build automated bots without typing a line of code.
