Good morning,
Being a CIO is not just about being techno savvy. Above all, it is being the human link between teams who work together to transform a company. It is this fundamentally human character that makes your missions so complex on a daily basis!
And it must be said: sometimes nothing works from a human point of view. Your teams lack alignment, you say “no” all day long to different people, and you have to convince a lot of actors of the legitimacy of your decisions.
Take a deep breath: we've brought you together in this newsletter full of ideas for solving these human, all too human problems - all while remaining human, very human. Do you want to know that?
On the program today:
💡 The challenge of the month : how to realign with your N+1 when your transformation plan seems to be completely out of whack.
🔥 The lesson to remember : the power of “yes and” rather than “no.”
🔩 AirSaaS news : your decisions and risks automatically reported from your reports into your projects and flash reports!
And lots of other best practices to transform your organization faster, further away.

In the subway, in the car, or in the middle of a jog, Listen to episode 74 of CIO Revolution. In it, Frédéric Mai, CIO of the Homeserve group, explains the pact he makes with his CEO, at the level of the Codir, during the interviews, and his founding role. The idea: not only focus on the salary of the position, but on how CEO and CIO will work together. A real slap in the face, which makes it possible to set up a solid foundation to transform a company in depth, in an agile way!
You have just been recruited, and you are progressing on your transformation plan quietly. Before presenting it to the Codir, proud of your work, you present all this to your N+1. And then, woe: he tells you that your plan is too ambitious, that it's not going to work.
Faced with this problem, you have two solutions: either pull out your forceps to present your plan to the board and start the war with your N+1, or... leave.
Our position : Faced with a situation where a CIO and his N+1 are not aligned, and a realignment is impossible, it is sometimes better to leave the company yourself than to force it. After all, your N+1 is competent at what they do. So, rather than wasting a year trying to do the impossible (knowing that the average lifespan of a CIO in a company is three years), agree to leave.
A healthy solution for you as well as for the company - provided that you have continued to work your network alongside your main mission, offering consulting for other customers in parallel.
📚 The must-read of our blog
Do you think that your company is not mature enough in project management to move towards project portfolio management? This is not our opinion (even if, of course, we are a bit biased...)! In This article, we take you through the arguments that immobilize your company's governance processes, and therefore, its transformation - to better thwart them, and move the organization forward more quickly.
“When someone comes to you for a project, don't say more non, but Yes and !”
Regularly, your professions and project managers come to you, with new ideas to add to your roadmap. Result? You regularly find yourself in the position of professional objector, answering”No, not right away” or”Not right away, we don't have the budget yet”. What if you turned the tide, answering no longer “no”, but “yes and”?
The idea is simple: you explain to the person who comes to ask you what involvement they will have to have in this new project. ”Ok, it's up to you to free up your teams to do it” or else”Okay, so make a budget for this project”. By imposing these constraints on the person, you are giving them the opportunity to see for themselves that it is impossible - and therefore, to bear the burden of the”non” final.
You may already be using the AirSaaS feature, which allows you to report directly on the platform. Good news: now, as soon as you create your CR in AirSaaS, your new decisions and new risks are automatically updated in your project and in your flash report!
Enough to save even more time, by avoiding re-entry, and to make your project governance even more effective!
Did you know that 77% of corporate greenhouse gas emissions come from digital technology? Faced with this observation, many of you are looking for green IT solutions that can help reduce this outlier number.
That's what he's offering Rzlient, a French start-up that is on the rise and is coming to reconcile IT asset management and ecology. The company offers both the purchase and maintenance of your current computer equipment, but also a whole reconditioned offer. The fight against planned obsolescence, while ensuring quality? We love it!
